The highly-anticipated video for Lady Gaga's 'Judas' has arrived. In the video, Lady Gaga stars as an overtly-sexual Mary Magdalene, while Jesus and his disciples are part of a Hells Angels-esque biker gang. Gaga described the video as a "motorcycle Fellini movie where the apostles are revolutionaries in a modern-day Jerusalem".
Boondock Saints and Walking Dead star Norman Reedus, who portrays Judas, jumped to Gaga's defence in an interview with Rolling Stone, insisting that Gaga is "super Catholic" and is "definitely cool enough to not want to offend people or be offensive".
"It went through several changes and late-night debates because at one point, there were two completely different views and I was like, 'Listen, I don't want lightning to strike me! I believe in the gospel and I'm not going there.' And it was amazing because to have that conversation about salvation, peace and the search for the truth in a room of non-believers and believers, to me, that was saying God is active in a big way. And the place that it came to is surreal. We don't touch on things that we have no right touching upon, but the inspiration and the soul and idea that out of your oppression, your darkness, your Judas, you can come into the marvelous light. So it's about the inspiration and to never give up… We've created a new Jerusalem."-Laurieann Gibson talking about the development of the video

"On GOAT, a government owned alien territory in space, a birth of magnificent and magical proportions took place. But the birth was not finite. It was infinite."
Telling the story of the beginning of a "race within the race of humanity," Gaga creates a gooey sci-fi legend before breaking into an elaborate dance routine in a microscopic black bikini.
The video was directed by Nick Knight, along with Lady Gaga, the Haus of Gaga creative team and choreographer Laurieann Gibson, accoring to a press release.
Later, the singer takes her "Mother Monster" self seriously, appearing as a zombie with skeletal makeup, a pink ponytail and a tuxedo.
The song's message of self-acceptance rings out as Gaga raps, "Whether life's disabilities / Left you outcast, bullied or teased / Rejoice and love yourself today / 'Cause baby, you were born this way / No matter gay, straight or bi / lesbian, transgendered life / I'm on the right track, baby / I was born to survive."
