Lady Gaga is in the center of the spotlight these days in the weeks leading up to the May 23 release of Born This Way. The Italian-American is already the unlikely cover girl for V magazine’s Asian issue, and now she’s splashed across the cover of Spanish mag Yo Dona, too, going backless to bare her tattoos.
Scotty McCreery’s mentor is, as usual, wearing some insanely tall shoes, as well as a hat that rivals this one in craziness. See the full cover after the click!.
Lady Gaga has taken over V magazine, debuting her very own fashion column for the magazine and multiplying her avant garde mug for the cover.
Shot here by legendary fashion photographer duo Inez and Vinoodh for V Asia, Gaga is making all the right connections in the fashion industry and has booked a gig as a regular contributor with the US version of the popular publication. The pop superstar has already displayed her love of fashion in her music videos and on the red carpet, and now the style star has put her impressive fashion knowledge on paper.
In her editorial debut for V's May issue Gaga opens "Glam culture is ultimately rooted in obsession, and those of us who are truly devoted and loyal to the lifestyle of glamor are masters of its history. Or, to put it more elegantly, we are librarians."
The expert continues, "I myself can look at almost any hemline, silhouette, beadwork or heel architecture and tell you very precisely who designed it after them, and what cultural and musical movement parented the birth, death and resurrection of that particular trend."
Gaga goes on to reveal that her Lower East Side studio apartment is a hotbed of fashion inspiration and calls her Haus of Gaga creative team a "living Warholian factory." She drops her knowledge from the school of glam history as she references modern painter Piet Mondrian, legendary fashion house Yves Saint Laurent and her 'Born This Way' music video all in one graph, which represents the theme of the column itself — the fusion of art, fashion and music into one seamless fabric of creative energy.

As Lady Gaga ramps up for the May 23 release of her highly anticipated Born This Way, she's set to drop another track from the album on Monday, a single called "Hair."That 'Red-One produced' song is set to hit iTunes on May 16th, a week before the release of Born This Way.
Like "The Edge of Glory," which Gaga released this past Monday, this song also features sax player Clarence Clemons of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band and harks back to a different era of pop.
According to a press listening in February, "Hair" draws inspiration from Pat Benatar's '80s classic "We Belong," while thematically it focuses on empowering lyrics similar to those of "Born This Way." Gaga's been talking about the track for some time now.
On Ryan Seacrest's radio show earlier this year, she revealed some of the lyrics: "This is my prayer, that I'll die living just as free as my hair." "It's really up-tempo. It's a club record, but has a Bruce Springsteen vibe," she explained. "It's really interesting because it's putting sax on a huge dance record." In an interview with radio station Z-100, she added, "Some of those themes are explored more on this album. To put my money where my mouth is."
