Three days after her triumphant Super Bowl halftime performance, and just after announcing a world tour, Lady Gaga has released the video for “John Wayne,” a collaboration with Mark Ronson and Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme from her album Joanne. Directed by Jonas Åkerlund (who also helmed “Paparazzi” and “Telephone”), it’s a return to the cheeky, fun maximalism of old Gaga videos, following the more stripped-down clips for “Perfect Illusion” and “Million Reasons.” There’s a car chase, lots of fire, explosions, crazy costumes, and jokes. At one point, Gaga shoots bullets from her high heels.
