The clip, has just premiered online , starting with a Star Wars-like introduction to an epic space tale. "This is the manifesto of Mother Monster," GaGa says while a unicorn and pink triangles flash on screen. "On GOAT, a government owned alien territory in space, a birth of magnificent and magical proportions took place. But the birth was not finite. It was infinite."
Telling the story of the beginning of a "race within the race of humanity," Gaga creates a gooey sci-fi legend before breaking into an elaborate dance routine in a microscopic black bikini.
The video was directed by Nick Knight, along with Lady Gaga, the Haus of Gaga creative team and choreographer Laurieann Gibson, accoring to a press release.
Later, the singer takes her "Mother Monster" self seriously, appearing as a zombie with skeletal makeup, a pink ponytail and a tuxedo.
The song's message of self-acceptance rings out as Gaga raps, "Whether life's disabilities / Left you outcast, bullied or teased / Rejoice and love yourself today / 'Cause baby, you were born this way / No matter gay, straight or bi / lesbian, transgendered life / I'm on the right track, baby / I was born to survive."

I, unlike some, think that the darkness in the video is essential because while the movement is making progress, there is still a long way to go before the light can light the path to truly being oneself without hiding in regret. The good and evil forces are there, but there’s always family (friends, family, and community) to help you.
The end shows GaGa crying after what I am thinking was an attack on her for who she is. However. she rides off on a unicorn into the future– a future, where love outshines hate and people no longer have to hide themselves to the point of death.
In a way, I see a connection to her “Alejandro” video because we had the funeral procession (the death of the self as a result of not being free, not being oneself. You have mourning, but then you can move on, becoming stronger and better.
You know a lot of people aren’t gonna bother trying to figure out the meaning of the video, they’re just gonna go, “Ewww, what the hell was that? She’s so weird” and leave it at that. We, little monsters, are fortunate enough to understand what Gaga was trying to do and so we are able to fully appreciate the video. Personally, I think this video is one of her best, if not THE best she has done so far. Yes, even better than Bad Romance. This video is on another level, the way she chose to portray the birth of a new race is just out of this world (no pun intended), and her use of imagery and symbolism is stronger than ever. Born This Way truly is the beginning of a new era, and Gaga has single-handedly revived the art of music video. Other pop stars have nothing on her. NOTHING.
